Tehran's Fruit & Vegetable Market to Be Turned into Major Fruit Export Center

TEHRAN -- Tehran Mayor, Morteza Alviri, yesterday said that Tehran's central fruit and vegetable market will soon be turned into a major center for the export of fruit. He made the remark at the inauguration of the third phase of the market, located on Azadegan Highway, southern Tehran. He said that in the coming month, all the problems facing the dealers at the market and those related to renting the pavilions will be removed.
Referring to the fact that more than four million tons of goods are handled at the market annually, Alviri underlined that measures should be taken to improve sanitation and hygiene in such centers.
